No evidence 3rd COVID 19 wave will hit children Dir AIIMS New Delhi

Children are unlikely to be more infected in the 3rd COVID-19 wave as suggested by data from the first two waves Director AIIMS Delhi Dr Randeep Guleria said on Monday. “Data from 1st and 2nd waves are similar and suggest that children are protected are less infected by COVID-19 ” Dr Guleria said in reply to a question at a press conference in New Delhi yesterday. The Director of AIIMS New Delhi further said that even if the children are infected by the virus it will be a “very mild” infection. So there's no indication that children will be more infected in 3rd wave ” the Director AIIMS explained. Dr Guleria explained pointed out the hypothesis for the same saying that the virus enters into the human body through ace receptors “and such receptors are relatively lessser in children”.
