Thripunithura residents join hands with police to improve security

General classes on safety issues and talks on self-defence had been organised during special meetings of residents’ associations. Thripunithura residents in association with the Hill Palace police station are strengthening the security and safety cover by enhancing patrolling and also empowering people with self-defence techniques. Being part of special squads that will help the police ensure better patrolling is a voluntary exercise. Shebab told The Hindu that the members of the women’s cell in Thripunithura were trained in self-defence techniques, and a few classes would soon be arranged for women. A few cases of violent break-ins at houses and thefts at commercial establishments and temples in various parts of the district have led residents to take a keen interest in safety measures rather than leaving everything to the police.
