Death toll rises to four in Maradu tragedy

The funeral will be held at St Raphel's Church in Thykoodam at 10am on Monday. The inquest proceedings were completed on Sunday and the body is now kept at a private hospital.Carol's parents, Joma and Joby, who work as nurses in Australia, have already returned to Kochi following the accident. The accident occured when the school van of Kidz World, a pre-school in Maradu carrying eight kids and the ayah, skidded and fell into a temple pond at Ayani located at one side of the road.Meanwhile, playschool Kidz World authorities have postponed reopening following the death of Carol. Two other toddlers Adithyan S Nair and Vidya Lekshmi, besides Latha Unni, an ayah had lost their lives in the accident that happened on June 11. She breathed her last at 1.25pm on Sunday.

KOCHI: Carol Joby (5), who was involved in the playschool van accident at Maradu died at a private hospital in Kochi on Sunday, taking the total number of deaths in the tragedy to four.She was on life support using ventilator as the oxygen supply to her brain got cut off due to pulmonary edema following fluid accumulation in her lungs. She breathed her last at 1.25pm on Sunday.
