Alappuzha thief returns gold ornaments with an apology

ALAPPUZHA: A thief , who might have been feeling remorse, gave back stolen gold ornaments to its owner with an apology letter. On Thursday morning, they found the missing gold ornaments in front of the house gate wrapped in a paper with a note scribbled on it. Please don’t approach the police against me.”Subsequently, Kumar informed the police that he did not want to go ahead with the case. I took your ornaments as I was in desperate need of money. The police started an investigation focusing on the suspected person.That’s when things got unusual.

ALAPPUZHA: A thief , who might have been feeling remorse, gave back stolen gold ornaments to its owner with an apology letter. The incident happened within Ambalapuzha police station limits.The story began on Tuesday. Ambalappuzha circle inspector Biju V Nair said Madhu Kumar of Karumady had gone with his family to Karuvatta in the evening to attend a function related to the wedding of his elder brother’s son.“They went without locking the house gate. When they returned at10.30pm they found that the house has been broken into. The back door was opened. The next day Kumar approached the police and lodged a complaint. On a hunch, he revealed to the policemen the name of a man whom he suspected to be behind the robbery,” said the police officer. The police started an investigation focusing on the suspected person.That’s when things got unusual. On Thursday morning, they found the missing gold ornaments in front of the house gate wrapped in a paper with a note scribbled on it. The note said: “Please forgive me. I took your ornaments as I was in desperate need of money. I will not repeat it. Please don’t approach the police against me.”Subsequently, Kumar informed the police that he did not want to go ahead with the case.
