The continuing rain flooded the city’s major Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) sub-station at Kaloor, causing prolonged power outage in several parts of the city like Palarivattom and parts of Edappally for most part of Thursday. However, sources said they were able to use back feeders to restore power in most parts of the city. KSEB control room sources said that power outage was caused, as the sub-station had to be shut down following waterlogging. There has also been a major problem with the 66 KV station at Njarakkal. The sub-station was revived and power supply restored after water drained in the afternoon.
