The prizes were given away by BSNL Principal General Manager K. Francis Jacob, Union Bank of India Deputy General Manager A. Krishnaswamy, and Senior Assistant Editor of The Hindu Business Line V. Sajeev Kumar. Vora in the final round were a mix of tough questions from business and tech worlds and lighter ones.

They will now participate in the finals to be held in Mumbai on September 22. A duo from Federal Bank, Midun V. Zachariah and Amrut Itty Abraham, were the first runners-up, while Malayala Manorama’s Arun Thomas and Nitin Suresh were the second runners-up at the event held on Saturday at Bhavan’s Royal Institute of Management (BRIM), Thiruvankulam. The questions posed by quizmaster Miraj C. Vora in the final round were a mix of tough questions from business and tech worlds and lighter ones. They included how Cafe Positive of Kolkata stood out from the rest of the hotels in India. “It is manned by HIV+ staff,” was the correct reply. The buzzer round saw questions like the new name for UAE Exchange. The answer was Unimoni. Members of the audience were asked to identify a photograph of people holding a banner that read ‘No more Karoshi’. Karoshi stands for death by overworking. The finals also saw questions like identifying the author of How I Gave Away a Kidney and Got Richer at Heart - Kochouseph Chittilapilly, and who designed Steve Job’s famous turtlenecks - fashion designer Issey Miakey. Questions in the preliminary round began with which brand’s magazine is Happiness (Lulu Mall) and moved over to ones like Popy umbrella has I-track, who has I-auto (John’s umbrella), and the game redesigned to help the colour blind (Uno). The 16th edition of the quiz, which is packaged as India’s toughest corporate business quiz, was presented by Union Bank of India and powered by BSNL. The event was managed by WOOT Factor Events Pvt Ltd., while Quizworks was the quizzing partner. The event will be held in five other cities too—Chennai, Hyderabad, Delhi, Bengaluru, and Mumbai. The prizes were given away by BSNL Principal General Manager K. Francis Jacob, Union Bank of India Deputy General Manager A. Krishnaswamy, and Senior Assistant Editor of The Hindu Business Line V. Sajeev Kumar. Others who were present included the Dean of BRIM, Rajagopala Nair.
