KOCHI: A 39-year-old man who stabbed his wife to death at their house on SRM Road was remanded in judicial custody for 14 days on Saturday.Though the crime happened on the night of September 15, further procedures were delayed as the accused was under treatment at a private hospital in Ernakulam North after he sustained severe injuries to his hand during the attack.The accused, Sanju Sulal Sait of Alappuzha , underwent a plastic surgery at the hospital.The arrest was recorded on Friday after he was discharged from the hospital, said police.The accused was produced before a magistrate court in Ernakulam, and was later sent to Kakkanad district jail.The accused had stabbed his wife Sheeba to death using a knife. The woman had sustained 18 stab injuries during the attack. Sheeba’s mother had also sustained injuries.He was taken to the crime scene for evidence collection. The arrest was recorded by a team, including North CI KJ Peter and SI Vibindas.
