Cyberdome wing to be launched in Kochi soon

All contacts, relationships, and resources that have been painstakingly built by conducting conferences all these years were constantly nurtured by communicating and liasioning with them. The contacts were utilised for laying the foundation for Cyberdome, building its future prospects and evolving it as the one-stop centre for all law enforcement personnel countering cyber criminals, they said. The annual event has also helped the police address the jurisdictional difficulty of investigating cyber crimes by utilising the point of contact generated from international speakers and delegates who attended the conferences. Chief Secretary Tom Jose, who inaugurated the valedictory session of the event, elaborated on the need to enhance cyber security in the era of digitalisation and said the future of robotics and Artificial Intelligence was infinite. This was manifested in the enhanced international participation experienced at Cocon, he added. Participating as the chief guest at the session, actor Mohanlal said social media abuse and piracy were the greatest challenges facing film industry. Noting the growing role of Internet in everyday life, he emphasised the need for awareness about cyber safety. Manoj Abraham, Nodal Officer, Kerala Police Cyberdome; Jay Bavisi, president, EC Council; Dinesh Thampi, vice president, operations, TCS, and Najlia Muhammad Alnaqbi, vice chairperson, E-Safe Society, were among those present. Earlier in the day, Sreelakshmi and Gem George, techies from Infopark, emerged winners in the hacking contest conducted by the Kerala Police Cyberdome in association with cyber security company App Fab. As many as 50 teams had participated in the contest, which lasted over 27 hours. The winners received an amount of ?10,000 as reward from Mr. Mohanlal. The second position was bagged by Joseph Nygil and Arjun Sankar.
