Rallies were taken out under the aegis of Sabarimala Karma Samiti demanding that the rituals at the temple be preserved. The protests were held at Vyttila, Kaloor, Thoppumpady, Piravom, Kothamangalam, Perumbavoor, Angamaly, Aluva, North Paravur, Kalamassery, Kalady, Cherai, and Pattimattom. The protests were part of a Statewide blockade of major roads by the Samiti.

The protests were part of a Statewide blockade of major roads by the Samiti. Leaders of organisations like the Bharatiya Janata Party, Hindu Aikyavedi, Kerala Kshetra Samrakshana Samiti, Vishwa Hindu Parishad, and Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh, addressed protesters. They alleged that the LDF government had failed to consider the sentiments of devotees while making it clear that all arrangements would be made to implement the Supreme Court verdict. The leaders criticised the government decision not to file a review petition against the verdict. According to them, the government is trying to trigger tension in Sabarimala by promising to provide all security measures for women to visit the hill shrine. The protests will be intensified in the coming days, they warned. The protesters chanted hymns on the Lord Ayappa, besides holding placards against the government. The protests, which began around 11 a.m, concluded by 12 noon.
