In Indian situation, disaster is not a big problem and in majority of cases the effects are shortterm until they are vulnerable,” Dr Jayaprakash said.Psychiatrists said people were rendered anxious because of the losses, they may have suffered in terms of property or business. This can lead to depression and for such persons just counselling or medicines is not enough and they need psycho-social help.These people will be identified by the Asha workers who have been trained to work at the grassroot-level.
