KOCHI: Palarivattom police probing an incident in which personnel of Thunder Force, a private security agency, assaulted and threatened a group of youths after brandishing a gun at them, are now trying to verify whether one among the suspects, Somveer Singh, had permission to bring the gun into the state.Police on Wednesday expanded the probe to Goa in search of the two suspects — Singh and Pramod — who are at large.“As per our understanding, Singh has licence for the gun. However, chances are high that he might have violated the procedures for interstate transfer of weapons. This could be verified only after checking his licence,” said Palarivattom sub-inspector S Sanal.The city police have already arrested eight security guards of the private security agency for assaulting 15 youths. The case pertains to the incident in which the youths, who were hired to help the security agency, getting thrashed after an Indian Super League (ISL) football match on Monday, over wage dispute.Palarivattom police said that though the complaint had mentioned the number of accused as 15, the probe found that the actual number is 10.With the call data record analysis becoming largely fruitless, police believe that the suspects might have not gone to Haryana, but suspect that they had fled to Goa.Officials said that they were coordinating with the security agency and asked them to alert them as soon as the absconding suspects make any contact.
