Odisha natives held with 1.25kg ganja

KOCHI: Excise special squad, on Thursday, arrested two Odisha natives and seized 1.25kg ganga from them. The arrested are Gulsar Hussain of Assam, K V Lal of Kalady and Tom Kuruvila of Kothamangalam This month alone, Perumbavoor police had seized 7.5kg ganja. Ganja was found in 220 packets. The arrested are Pintu Naik (25) alias Chotta Bhai and Panchanan Naik (25) alias Bhada Bhai of Odisha.According to excise, the accused have been using Keralites as middlemen to sell narcotic products among customers at Kakkanad. They were caught based on a tip off from four other accused who were arrested earlier.In another case, Perumbavoor police have seized 15,000 packets of banned tobacco (Hans) worth Rs 5 lakh and arrested three people.
