KOZHIKODE: Vasantha Kumar V V (38), one of the CRPF personnel killed in the Pulwama terror attack on Thursday, had returned to his new battalion in Kashmir from his home in Lakkidi, Wayanad on February 8. Kumar, who belongs to Mullu Kuruma tribe, is survived by mother Santha, wife Sheena B, daughter Anamika (8) and son Amar Deep (5). He had come home for a week after he was promoted as havildar The family was officially informed about his death by a CRPF official early on Friday. The funeral will be held at Mukkamkunnu near Thrikkaipeta later with full state honours. His father Vazhakandil Vasudevan, who was the ooru moopan (tribal chieftan) of Pookode for a long time, had died nine months ago.Kumar's mortal remains will be brought to Wayanad on Saturday morning and kept at Lakkidi GLPS for public to pay homage.
