Perumbavoor police arrested an 18-year-old student of Jamaath Higher Secondary School , Thandekkad, near Perumbavoor, when he obstructed the police from doing their duty and allegedly tried to push one of the policemen who questioned their celebration that went wild inside the school campus.According to police, they received a call from the school principal saying that a group of students were bursting crackers inside the campus causing discomfort to students and teachers. A three-member police team led by sub inspector Laisad Muhammed reached the campus and questioned the students involved. But the students, who were overexcited, mistreated the policemen and expressed their annoyance when the police asked them to stop the celebration.“The situation went worse when one guy started questioning the police. When a policeman asked him to calm down he even caught hold of his shirt’s collar and pushed him. We spared others, but we nabbed him and brought to the police station,” said a police officer.A case was registered against him under Sections 341 (wrongful restraint), 332 (causing hurt to deter public servant from his duty), 294B (sings, recites or utters any obscene song, ballad or words, in or near any public place) and 506A (criminal intimidation).
