NDPP wants action in 'illegal voting' plaint

KOHIMA: NDPP , in a letter to the Nagaland chief electoral officer (CEO) on Wednesday, drew his attention to a complaint filed by the party's candidate from Western Angami, Kevisekho Kruse , alleging of illegally cast postal ballots in his constituency, and said no action has been taken by the district election officer, who is also the deputy commissioner of Kohima district.On March 1, Kruse had lodged his complaint to the CEO, alleging that out of the 29 votes cast through postal ballots in his constituency, two votes - that of Aniko Kruse (E-roll:105), who was already dead, and a cowherd by the name of Dularam (E-roll: 557 ) - had been cast illegally.Quoting sources from the office of the Kohima deputy commissioner, NDPP said they have been informed that some suspects have been identified, but no has been arrested.
