Nagaland starts Register of Indigenous Inhabitants of Nagaland aims completion in 60 days

Kohima: The process of preparing list of indigenous people of the state has kick-started in Nagaland as the government made an official announcement of the register of all indigenous inhabitants on Wednesday.
Like Assam NRC, the Register of Indigenous Inhabitants of Nagaland (RIIN) will help the indigenous people of the land to prove their identity and detect the illegal foreigners who have been settled down in the state after December 1, 1963.
Once the certificates are issued, all other certificates of citizenship or identity will become invalid.
The notification had mentioned it that the process of registration will commence from Wednesday and will be complete in duration of 60 days.
