Nagaland reports 47 new COVID-19 cases, 1 more death

Kohima, Aug 24 (PTI) Nagaland"s COVID-19 tally on Tuesday rose to 29,669 as 47 more people tested positive for the virus, a health official said. The COVID-19 death toll in the state climbed to 611 with one more person succumbing to the disease in Dimapur district, he said. "Forty-seven positive cases detected today are – Dimapur (18), Kohima (13), Mokokchung (11), Phek (3) and Mon and Peren 1 each", he said. Seventy-three COVID positive patients recovered during the last 24 hours, taking the total number of recoveries to 27,311, said State Nodal Officer for Integrated Disease Surveillance Project, Dr Nyanthung Kikon in the daily COVID-19 bulletin. The COVID-19 recovery rate in the state now is 92.05 per cent. Nagaland currently has 888 active COVID-19 cases, he said, adding that altogether 859 COVID-19 patients have migrated to other states. So far, a total of 3,05,999 samples have been tested for COVID-19, Dr Kikon said. A total of 834,662 doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered to 6,49,661 people in Nagaland as on Monday, said State Immunization Officer Dr Ritu Thurr. PTI NBS RG RG
