Nagaland reports more COVID-19 recoveries than fresh cases

Kohima, Sep 10 (PTI) Nagaland reported more COVID-19 recoveries than detection of fresh infection for the second consecutive day on Friday as 48 patients got cured while 45 fresh cases increased the tally to 30,510, a health official said. The COVID-19 recovery rate in the state now is 92.76 per cent, the official said. State Nodal Officer for Integrated Disease Surveillance Project, Dr Nyanthung Kikon in the daily COVID-19 bulletin said 48 COVID-19 patients – Mokokchung (13), Kohima (12), Dimapur (11), Zunheboto (6), Phek (4) and Longleng & Mon (1 each) recovered during the last 24 hours, taking the total number of COVID recoveries to 28,344. He said 45 positive cases were detected on Friday – Dimapur (27), Kohima (12), Mokokchung (2), Kiphire, Tuensang, Wokha and Zunheboto (1 each). Nagaland currently has 650 active COVID-19 cases, while 927 patients have migrated to other states. The COVID-19 death toll in the state remained at 634 as no fresh fatality due to the contagion was reported in the last 24 hours, Kikon said. So far a total of 342,753 samples have been tested for COVID-19 samples. A total of 9,13,829 doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered to 6,67,556 persons in Nagaland till Thursday, said State Immunization Officer Dr Ritu Thurr. PTI NBS RG RG
