Shivaji University to begin ‘online profiling’ of students

Kolhapur: ‘Online profiling’ of students entering Shivaji University, Kolhapur (SUK), is set to begin in July. The website is easy for students to understand and there is a section on the portal that students can use if they need help understanding the profiling process, a university official explained. New students will fill in the information while gaining admission, and already enrolled students will have to update their details in accordance with their academic progress.If students fail to update information, hall tickets will be generated with outdated information. Information about students – the name of the applicant, college, address, course admitted to and the category under which applicant is admitted will be collected online and regularly updated.Pro vice chanceloor DT Shirke told TOI the online link will be made available soon for students. That could cause confusion and result in loss of time for both students and administrative staff, the pro vice chancellor said.“The link is yet to be made available to students.

We will be reviewing the situation on Monday and will start the initiative at the earliest,” he said, adding that over 80,000 first-year undergraduate students affiliated to the different colleges and the Centre of Distance Education will have to fill in their data.Shirke said students can monitor the data.
