City-based nature group receives Vanshree Award for tree plantation

Environmentalists of Garden Club in Kolhapur cheered as they bagged the award at Vanshree Award ceremony for their noble work of plantation. The city based group won the award for planting 31 crores saplings at a place named Varap near Kalyan. Their happiness was evident as Dhanashree Patil and Kalpana Sawant from the group received the award. The club inspires citizens to take up more of this work and be a part of the plantation cause. The whole team was present to receive the award which a state prestigious award.

They received the award from Devendra Fadnavis at the ceremony. Dignitaries like forest minister Sudhir Mungantivaar along with Eknath Shinde, Ravindra Chavan graced the occasion. Their happiness was evident as Dhanashree Patil and Kalpana Sawant from the group received the award. The group has been doing the work of planation for the past 47 years and also takes up cleanliness drives at various places in the city. The club inspires citizens to take up more of this work and be a part of the plantation cause.
