Congress to start Yatra from Kolhapur

KOLHAPUR: The Congress is planning to launch a state-wide mass contract drive called as 'Parivartan Yatra' from August 31. The yatra will start from western Maharashtra and will cover almost all the districts in the state culminating in Vidarbha "We will start the rally from Kolhapur and after covering the districts from western Maharashtra we will cover other parts of the state," said a senior congress leader. At initial level we will cover western Maharashtra till Ganeshotsav. According to sources, the aim of the rally is to reach out to people at the grassroot level and connect with them. "Our plan is to cover almost all the legislative constituencies in the state.

After celebration of Ganeshotsav we will cover north Maharashtra, Marathwada and Vidarbha," he said.State Congress chief Ashok Chavan has met all the district presidents and senior leaders of the party and will convene their meeting at Pune on August 24 to finalise the party's plan to start rallies. According to sources, the aim of the rally is to reach out to people at the grassroot level and connect with them.
