th Rajya Natya Spardha is a platform that caters to appreciating the world of Marathi theatre. For their 57Rajya Natya Spardha, the state directorate of cultural affairs organised the division-level prize distribution wherein various teams from the state had participated. Amongst the various teams, Mandar Bhanage Theatre ( MB Theatre ) from Kolhapur bagged four awards in their kitty. The theatre group bagged awards in four categories for best play, best director, actors and lightening design. The best among the lot was the award for lighting for the play Dard-e-Disco which was done by Mandar Bhanage himself. Along with certificate and awards, he also received a cash prize of Rs. 6000. Mandar Bhanage who is the director and lead actor of the play Hamlet in Marathi was very happy to receive the award. On receiving the award, he said “Receiving prizes and certificates in Rajya Natya Spardha is considered prestigious for the Marathi amateur theatre. It is like a badge of honour for the part-time artists and technicians who work hard for their passion.”
