MSRTC to deploy more buses for Ganeshotsav

KOLHAPUR: Citizens planning travel during the Ganesh festival need not worry about shortage of transport buses and rush during the peak period.The Kolhapur division of the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation has decided to deploy additional buses on busy routes to help passengers travel without facing crowding in buses and at the bus stops. The additional ferries will be done along with regular ferries. We will also ply additional 150 ferries to carry passengers from Pune (Swargate, Pimpri-Chinchwad, Nigdi, Hinjewadi) to Kolhapur, Ichalkaranji, Belgaum and Hubali," said an official from MSRTC, Kolhapur division.Passengers can reserve these buses at Swargate and Hinjewadi on September 11 and 12.

The officials have focussed on the tourists travelling from Pune and Mumbai to Kolhapur and from Kolhapur to Konkan region.Special buses will ply on the routes from Pune, Mumbai to Kolhapur and from Kolhapur to Konkan region including Ratnagiri, Sawantwadi, Malwan, Kankawali and other parts including Sangli, Islampur and Belgaum and Hubali in Karnataka state."We have made the adequate provision of the buses on these routes. We will provide 85 extra buses for passengers travelling from Mumbai and Thane to Kolhapur and Konkan region. We will also ply additional 150 ferries to carry passengers from Pune (Swargate, Pimpri-Chinchwad, Nigdi, Hinjewadi) to Kolhapur, Ichalkaranji, Belgaum and Hubali," said an official from MSRTC, Kolhapur division.Passengers can reserve these buses at Swargate and Hinjewadi on September 11 and 12. The additional ferries will be done along with regular ferries."We appeal to the passengers to avail the different platforms for reserving their seats and use e-ticketing facilities to avoid rush at the bus stands in various parts of the district and at Pune and Mumbai," he said.
