Goods worth Rs 2.6L stolen in 2 break-ins

After entering, he found that the house was completely ransacked. Kolhapur: Two incidents of house break-ins were registered in the district in last two days where burglars decamped with valuables worth Rs 2.60 lakh.In the first incident, reported with Shahapur police station, unidentified men broke into a house located at Jawaiwadi Tambe Mala in Tardal village of Hatkanangle taluka and stole valuables worth Rs 2.19 lakh.According to police, 61-year-old complainant — identified as Devdatta Mane — had gone out to meet his relatives with his family on October 27. When he returned the next day, he found that locks were broken.After entering the shop he found that cash Rs 22,500 kept in the counter worth along with clothes all amounting Rs 41,000 were stolen from the shop.“We have registered a case against unidentified people under relevant sections of the IPC,” a police officer attached with Kale police station said.

He later lodged a complaint with us,” a police officer said.“We have registered a case against unidentified people under sections 454, 457 and section 380 of the Indian Penal Code,” he added.In the second case, reported in the jurisdiction of Kale police station, the suspects broke open a cloth shop located at Bajarbhogav in Panhala taluka and looted valuables worth Rs 41,000, including cash Rs 22,500.According to the complainant — identified as Chandraknat Ganpati Mole — he went home after locking his shop on October 28. When he returned the next day, he found that locks were broken.After entering the shop he found that cash Rs 22,500 kept in the counter worth along with clothes all amounting Rs 41,000 were stolen from the shop.“We have registered a case against unidentified people under relevant sections of the IPC,” a police officer attached with Kale police station said.
