Police on the lookout for gangs using gas cutter

We are gathering information about criminals on police record and gangs that were involved in breaking shutters by using gas cutters. On Thursday, similar cases were reported in city where two jewellery shops were targeted. The initial investigation suggests that in all three robberies the suspects have used gas cutters for breaking the locks of the shutters of the bank and the jewellery shops. The investigation suggests that they are skilled in these types of robberies. We expect that interrogating the members of these gangs will give us some leads regarding the recent robberies,” a senior police officer said.“We suspect that different gangs were involved in these robberies and all have done recce of these spots and have committed the crime after proper planning and gathering information about the day-to-day functioning of the shops and the bank,” he said.The police have formed five teams to gather evidences that would help them to reach out to the suspects involved in the crime.A gang of four suspects broke into a co-operative bank at Kale village in Panhala taluka and decamped with valuables worth Rs1 crore on Friday. On Thursday, similar cases were reported in city where two jewellery shops were targeted.
