The Ichalkaranji-based DKTE Society’s Textile and Engineering Institute has won the NBA achievement award from the Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) recently. The ISTE had organized the 19th annual state level teachers’ congregation in which the college was honoured with the award. All the courses being taught at the college have received accreditation from the National Board of Accreditation (NBA).DKTE Director P V Kadole said, “NBA is an autonomous institution which accredits academic institutions based on the quality. It is an honour to have all the courses accredited from the NBA.”TEDx event conducted at KIT: The Kolhapur Institute of Technology’s College of Engineering hosted TEDx event on its campus for the second consecutive year. The event was held in the first week of February. TED brings world’s thinkers and doers together on one platform to spread inspiring ideas through talks. However, considering the problem of distance to attend TED events, the organization licenses local universities/institutes to host TED like events under TEDx banner.TEDx was a day-long event, which was based on theme “From Conundrum Towards Creation”. “Thousands of mistakes and confusions are an important part of creation. Appreciation and recognition of these conundrums and how the ideas and leaders have raised themselves above these confusions is what this year’s theme had focused upon. The event had hosted talks of 9 renowned speakers who hold an expertise in divergent fields,” said one of the coordinators of the event.CSIBER hosts college fest: A three-day college festival was recently conducted at the city-based Chhatrapati Shahu Institute of Business Education And Research.Various event were held as a part of the festival in which students performs. Competitions on debate, elocution, quiz etc were held besides various cultural porgrammes
