Cops Interstate gang may be involved in series of robberies

The vault was broken and empty.

The probe suggests the involvement of a gang with members from neighbouring states,” a police officer involved in the investigation said.Police officers said they have sought the help of police in neighbouring districts across the state border, in Karnataka and other states.“Two days ago the gang that stole the vault of a jewellery shop in Kolhapur had thrown it on the Miraj-Pandharpur road. The vault was broken and empty. We recovered it and based that find, suspect that the gang stealing gold jewellery from shops might have moved towards Solapur or Vita,” he said.A gang of four suspects broke into branch of a cooperative bank at Kale village in Panhala taluka and decamped with valuables worth Rs one crore on Friday.
