Over 1000 visit civic bodyrsquos stall for affordable housing at Dalan expo

Several private developers have also exhibited their various affordable housing projects. We have received responses from the property seekers of all categories of income group. We are providing details of the PMAY scheme to property seekers and also guiding them on how to fill up the forms online. All these flats will be sold to the urban homeless people of the city at an affordable price. The KMC has floated a residential project on some land near Morewadi which will have a total of 234 units.

Kolhapur: Over 1,000 property seekers visited the Kolhapur Municipal Corporation’s (KMC) stall set up at Dalan Exhibition in the last three days.The KMC has exhibited the residential projects that are set to come up on its land under the Prime Minister Awas Yojana (PMAY) for people belonging to the low-income category. The KMC has floated a residential project on some land near Morewadi which will have a total of 234 units. All these flats will be sold to the urban homeless people of the city at an affordable price. The exhibition has been launched by the Kolhapur unit of the Confederation of Real Estate Developers Association of India (CREDAI), a body of real estate developers. Several private developers have also exhibited their various affordable housing projects. These have also managed to attract some property seekers.Yuvraj Jabade, PMAY coordinator of the KMC said, “We have launched various projects that will come up on our land. The affordable housing projects will be developed through a public-private partnership. We are providing details of the PMAY scheme to property seekers and also guiding them on how to fill up the forms online. We are going to initiate a lottery system to select the beneficiaries and the number of units may be increased based on the response we receive.” Monday is the last day of the exhibition.The home buyers will also get financial assistance from the central government and state government along with home loans from the banks at lower interest rates. The KMC has also displayed the details of the other projects for those owning a land plot or living in slums with their own property card. The guidance is provided for the documents required as well as the process to be followed to be selected as a beneficiary. “The in situ rehabilitation of the slum dwellers is our priority. We have received responses from the property seekers of all categories of income group. There is no separate booking for the flats. The potential beneficiaries have to upload their documents and these will be thoroughly scrutinized by the officials of our project department,” said Jabade.
