Grace marks for workers announced stir suspended

Nashik: The government has assured contract employees, working in the tribal development department, of grace marks in recruitment examinations and job security during postings.Employees working with ashramshalas in tribal development department schools across the state were up in arms recently, demanding job security and absorption into regular rolls before recruitment of freshers.“On Sunday, we held talks with the chief minister Devendra Fadnavis, Girish Mahajan (guardian minister for Nashik) and the secretary of the tribal development department, Manisha Varma. The person will be allowed to continue the job and it will be secure,” Patil added.Patil, while returning to Nashik from Mumbai after the talks, said that they would disclose details from the meeting that had been held between the 20-member delegation and the government with all the members. Contractual employment will continue for those who fail to clear the exams,” Patil said.He added that a staffer on contract would be paid a salary, but will not be offered government facilities or perks.“But those who fail to clear the recruitment examination will not lose their current posting. The government said we will be given more marks and job security for those who are unable to clear the exams,” Kamlakar Patil, secretary of the association of contractual employees, said.The protesting employees' primary demand was the government give top priority for those with job experiences ranging from five to 20 years.The Birhad morcha by the employees started from Nandurbar after it was alleged the government had not shown any inclination to help the contract workers despite several meetings.“The government has said our job experience will fetch a higher value in terms of grace marks.
