Man duped of Rs 80,000 by impersonator

KOLHAPUR: A man was robbed of jewellery worth Rs80,000 in Ichalkaranji on Saturday by a police impersonator. In the meantime, he tricked and robbed Lotake off his gold jewellery and fled with the other person standing nearby on a two-wheeler.” “One man introduced himself as a policeman and also showed some ID to trick the citizen. He said that they have got information related to ganja (weed) and they are searching passers-by for the same. He also stopped another passer-by and asked them to visit his superior,” read the report.

KOLHAPUR: A man was robbed of jewellery worth Rs80,000 in Ichalkaranji on Saturday by a police impersonator. Rajendra Lotake was out for a walk when the incident took place near Deccan chowk at 10am on Saturday.A complaint was lodged with the Shivajinagar police station on Saturday evening. “One man introduced himself as a policeman and also showed some ID to trick the citizen. He said that they have got information related to ganja (weed) and they are searching passers-by for the same. He also stopped another passer-by and asked them to visit his superior,” read the report. It further stated, “The fake cop then asked them to take off the things they are carrying. In the meantime, he tricked and robbed Lotake off his gold jewellery and fled with the other person standing nearby on a two-wheeler.”
