KMC to take action against residential association Deputy mayor

KOLHAPUR: The Kolhapur Municipal Corporation KMC ) has decided to take action against the Tarabai Park Residency Association for violating the terms of agreement regarding developing a garden.The civic administration is going to remove the board of the new name of the garden after the assocation named it 'Akar KSBP'.The garden was transferred to the association for 29 years and it was mandatory for the association to take permission before carrying out any changes in the garden.However, the KMC found that Kolhapur Street Beautification Project (KSBP), the organisation carrying out beautification work through the corporate social responsibility funds, has not taken its permission to carry out plantation, landscaping.It also renamed the garden as 'Akar KSBP' when it is already named after former MP late Udaysingrao Gaikwad through a resolution passed in the general body meeting of KMC on December 20, 2014.Deputy mayor Bhupal Shete said, "The garden is owned by KMC and has been given to the residents' association for development.
