Two flee with cop’s receipt book, held

Kolhapur: Two people stopped by a policeman at a traffic signal, snatched his receipt book and fled from the spot. The driver and the pillion rider snatched the receipt book from Patil and fled from the spot. While escaping from the spot, the duo threw the receipt book by the roadside.Patil lodged a complaint in this regard with the Laxmipuri police station. Patil asked him to pay the fine and started filling the details of the motorcycle in the receipt book he was carrying.As Patil was filing the receipt, the pillion rider started arguing with the policeman. The police traced the duo through the details of the motorcycle entered in the receipt book.The police have arrested Aditya alias Pawan Daulu Belekar, 19-year-old resident of Warange Padali of Karveer taluka, who was driving the motorcycle and the pillion rider, Shubham Vijay Kamble, 19, resident of Kushire village of Panhala taluka.

They were later arrested Assistant sub inspector Raghunath Govind Patil was posted at CPR civil hospital traffic signal on Tuesday afternoon, when he asked a two-wheeler rider to present his driving licence.The driver told Patil that he does not have a licence and the policeman could do as he felt necessary. Patil asked him to pay the fine and started filling the details of the motorcycle in the receipt book he was carrying.As Patil was filing the receipt, the pillion rider started arguing with the policeman. The driver and the pillion rider snatched the receipt book from Patil and fled from the spot. While escaping from the spot, the duo threw the receipt book by the roadside.Patil lodged a complaint in this regard with the Laxmipuri police station.
