State govt to take help of Rotary for making schools digital

Kolhapur: The state governments School education and sports department will take assistance from the Rotary South Asian Society (RSAS) for making over 18,000 government and private aided schools across the state, digital.According to the latest Government resolution on April 19, the school education and sports department stated that Dhule district has been declared 100% digital in terms of the mode of education in their ZP schools. The same kind of initiative will be replicated across all other ZP schools across the state, for which the assistance will be taken from the corporate-social responsibility (CSR), and public participation.It added that the state government has recently signed a memorandum of understanding with the RSAS for providing e-learning facility in as many as 18,510 schools across the state. The government and private aided schools will be included for this initiative, under which the same will be achieved within next three years with the help of Rotary.It said that from the state, the government schools will be given first preference for the e-learning initiative and later the private aided schools will be getting the preference.According to the circular, the schools with this April 19 GR, turning at least one of their classrooms in to the digital mode, will be preferred for the inclusion in this activity.The Rotary will be providing Hardware set of 32 inches High definition ready LED TV along with than Android stick having minimum 10 GB capacity.The GR added that the schools which are yet to go digital should turn their at least one of the classroom into the digital mode and register themselves on a special link created for the said initiative.The schools will be selected according to their performance, said the GR.
