Kolhapur: The Sangli police filed criminal complaints against driver and owner of the truck, parked along the Miraj-Pandharpur highway, on which a minibus collided leading to the death of seven people from Kolhapur's Gandhinagar-Valivade area.The deceased belonged to the Hegde and Devkule family and were returning from a religious place in Pandharpur. The police, in their initial investigation, have found that the truck driver and its owner are at fault as the truck did not have its parking lights on and didn't even have reflectors to alert other vehicles.The accident took place at 3 am on Friday and the complaints were filed late in the night. Sachin Vasmale, police sub-inspector (PSI) of Kavathemahankal Police Station, said, "As per the law the parked vehicle should have had reflectors or indicators on. We found that the driver didn't spot the truck spot due to absence of the reflectors. The owner of the truck Sagar Patil and driver Shrikant Patil have been arrested."
