Country’s 2nd tallest flag pole to be inaugurated tomorrowInauguration of 'second tallest' flag post on Monday

Kolhapur: The 300ft second tallest flag pole in the country will be inaugurated by chief minister Devendra Fadnavis on Monday.Joining him at the ceremony will be senior police officials and Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar. The flag pole is being installed at the Police Garden located opposite the headquarters of superintendent of police in the Kasaba Bawada area.This is the second tallest flag pole in the country after the post that was inaugurated at the Indo-Pak Attari Border on March 6. "The garden which will be inaugurated on Monday, is a replica of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Training Academy. Moreover, it will house an adventure park which will provide equipment like that of the police training academy. Actor Akshay Kumar is the major attraction for the event, who will also be present for the inauguration.

Along with the ceremonious inauguration of the 24 tonne flag pole, a garden will also be inaugurated and opened for the public.Special inspector general of Kolhapur Range, Vishwas Nangre Patil said, "Guardian minister Chandrakant Patil, minister of state for home Deepak Kesarkar, state DGP Satish Mathur and other members of the Parliament and Members of Legislative Assembly representing the Kolhapur district will be present at the occasion along with the chief minister. Actor Akshay Kumar is the major attraction for the event, who will also be present for the inauguration."The garden which will be inaugurated on Monday, is a replica of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Training Academy. Moreover, it will house an adventure park which will provide equipment like that of the police training academy. Plus, it will have a selfie spot, a mural expressing the importance of tricolour and an exhibition depicting the Indian Independence history between 1857 and 1947.The garden will be a host to different types of flowering plants from India as well as other countries. The aim of developing the garden is to learn about the Indian Armed Forces and police to inspire the generation next to join them.All the efforts have been taken by a registered trust, Kolhapur Street Beautification Project which will also look after its maintenance. The flag pole is being installed at the Police Garden located opposite the headquarters of superintendent of police in the Kasaba Bawada area.This is the second tallest flag pole in the country after the post that was inaugurated at the Indo-Pak Attari Border on March 6.
