KMC gears up for relief operations

Kolhapur: In the wake of recent incidents caused by heavy rainfall in the city, the civic body has come up with relief plans for the city.Kolhapur Municipal Corporation (KMC) commissioner Abhijeet Choudhari has issued instructions to the concerned officials to take immediated steps and be ready with the material to relocate people from the flood-prone areas to the safe zone. The residents can contact on the following number 0231-2541188 and toll free no. We are also looking forward for relief plans for 149 villages that are prone to floods and ensure that basic amenities and medicial facilities are provided to them," said Choudhari.The civic body has also set up a disaster management cell at the fire brigade office.
