Man sentenced to 2 years over molestation charges

DONEKolhapur: Kale court on Wednesday sentenced a 25-year-old man to two years imprisonment over charges of molesting a women. The police officials registered case against him on the same day under section 354 of IPC and arrested him. Hence we have decided to take quick action on the cases register with police stations and ensure that the victim gets justice." Her family members immediately lodged complaint against the accused of Kale police station. Police officials prepared a 25-page charge sheet and submitted it to the court.

DONEKolhapur: Kale court on Wednesday sentenced a 25-year-old man to two years imprisonment over charges of molesting a women. The accused was identified as Prakash Pandurang Patil, a resident of Adhavwade, taluka Panhala.Following a complaint registered by victim, police arrested Patil on September 8 and a charge sheet was filled in Kale court within 24 hours. The court after hearing the case and witnesses and evidences put forward by the investigating agency convicted the accused within twelve days of his arrest.According to prosecution, on September 8, Patil obstructed the victim at main chowk in her village while she was on way to work. He misbehaved and tried to force himself over the victim. She managed to ran away from the spot and narrated the incident to her family members. Her family members immediately lodged complaint against the accused of Kale police station. The police officials registered case against him on the same day under section 354 of IPC and arrested him. Police officials prepared a 25-page charge sheet and submitted it to the court. The hearing of the case began on Tuesday and after examining 4 witnesses and 2 panchs, Judicial Magistrate First Class, Milind Todkar convicted Patil for committing crime and sentenced him to two years of imprisonment. The court also slapped a fine of Rs3,000 to Patil and asked the concerned authorities to pay the amount to the victim.R R Patil, deputy superintendent of Police said, "We have received directions from higher authorities to take immediate action on the cases that are registered in the police stations and take steps to ensure that they are sent to the court for speedy delivery of justice. Hence we have decided to take quick action on the cases register with police stations and ensure that the victim gets justice."
