Students' death: BJP calls for WB bandh on Wed

KOLKATA: BJP has called for a West Bengal bandh on September 26 -- Wednesday in protest against the death of two students in Islampur in police firing. The school committee had also informed the school department about it.As the students were reluctant to allow the Urdu teacher get inside the school, the police had to use force and soon the police were also attacked by students and locals. Soon Tapas and Rajesh two ex-students who were agitating sustained bullet injuries and later died.RSS in a press conference had claimed that they were being defamed by Trinamool and education minister Partha Chatterjee as they were not involved in trouble making at Islampur. On Saturday, several parts of the state roads were blocked by agitating students in protest against the killing by police, However SP of North Dinajpur, Sumit Kumar, has denied police firing.Even chief minister Mamata Banerjee , who is in Italy, has said that police did not open fire. The CM blamed the RSS and BJP for the trouble as they had brought in outsiders for causing communal tension.On Thursday, the problem started when an Urdu teacher had gone to join Darivita school and the students had objected as there is no Urdu speaking student in the school, rather there is a need for Bengali and other subject teachers.
