Rain likely in Bengal

Heavy rain is also expected at isolated places in Malda , Uttar and Dakshin Dinajpur districts of north Bengal. The cyclone has started to weaken and by the time the cyclone reaches West Bengal it will be turned into a depression,” an official of the meteorological office said. Tourists in coastal towns of Digha, Mandarmani, Shankarpur and other places along the Bay of Bengal coast have been advised to stay away from the coastline.

Advisories have been issued for fishermen to stay away from seas. “There is prediction of heavy to very heavy rainfall at several areas of Purba and Paschim Medinipur and isolated places in South and North 24 Parganas in the next 48 hours. The cyclone has started to weaken and by the time the cyclone reaches West Bengal it will be turned into a depression,” an official of the meteorological office said. Heavy rain is also expected at isolated places in Malda , Uttar and Dakshin Dinajpur districts of north Bengal. There was disruption of some trains of the South Eastern Railway along Howrah Chennai route but according to spokesperson as the situation in East Coast Railway is slowly turning normal and trains services will run on normal route via Kharagpur-Khurda Road-Vizianagram. A few trains, however, were diverted along Kharagpur-Jharsuguda- Sambalpur-Rayagada-Vizianagaram route
