But the yatra cannot be stalled any further," said Dilip Ghosh , president of Bengal BJP. KOLKATA: The Bengal BJP is likely to knock the court’s door if the state government does not respond to its plea to take out the 7,000 km rathyatra across West Bengal from December 5. "The main rath will continue its journey to Siliguri in north Bengal, while upa-rath from areas like Kalimpong will join it en-route,” a BJP leader said. Apart from that there will be movements of the central BJP leaders and ministers while the yatra picks up steam. We had to take the legal course in 2014 to arrange a rally for Amit Shah.

KOLKATA: The Bengal BJP is likely to knock the court’s door if the state government does not respond to its plea to take out the 7,000 km rathyatra across West Bengal from December 5. The party on Monday claimed that it has already submitted detailed programmes with the home secretary Atri Bhattacharya , but they are yet to hear anything from the state government."We will take out the rathyatra on the scheduled dates. If the administration does not respond to us, we will knock the court’s door. But the yatra cannot be stalled any further," said Dilip Ghosh , president of Bengal BJP. Party leaders on Monday claimed that the first letter seeking an appointment was sent to the home secretary on October 29, followed by a second one on November 5. The third letter was sent to Bhattacharya on Monday."We have not heard anything from the state government in past 15 days. It seems that ignoring the BJP has become a practice for the administration. We had to take the legal course in 2014 to arrange a rally for Amit Shah. Yuva Morcha had to move the court for their bike rally this year. We are prepared for that this time too," Ghosh said. While the first rath will be taken out from Tarapith on December 5, two other yatras will start from Cochbehar and Sagar on December 7 and 9 respectively. "None of the yatras will have duration less than 37 days. These yatras will cover all of the 14 Lok Sabha constituencies. While it will not be possible to touch each of the 78,000 booths in the state, we will arrange for thousands of upa-rath (smaller chariots) which will join the main procession," said Jayprakash Mazumdar , state vice-president of the BJP.So far, the party has chalked out a plan to have upa-rath for each of three-booths in the areas far off from the main course of the yatra. "The main rath will continue its journey to Siliguri in north Bengal, while upa-rath from areas like Kalimpong will join it en-route,” a BJP leader said. Apart from that there will be movements of the central BJP leaders and ministers while the yatra picks up steam.
