Clashes erupt during BJP event at Basirhat

KOLKATA: Six police personnel and 14 BJP supporters were injured when a clash broke out at Basirhat during the party’s law violation programme on Monday afternoon. The meetings were succeeded by a law violation programme where BJP workers broke the barricade set up by the district police near the registry office. “They are trying to disrupt the peace in the state and BJP workers are responsible for the Monday’s incident. We had given a call for peaceful law violation. BJP leaders held a public meeting in the Shon Pukur area near Taki Road first, followed by another meeting at the Town Hall.
