Miscreants open fire in Midnapore

MIDNAPORE: Goons opened fire at two different locations in Midnapore town — at Kotwali police station area around 4.30pm on Sunday and at Mahatabpur on Monday midnight — triggering panic among the residents.Two youths, who came on a motorcycle, fired at random at seven places under Kotwali PS area. Police said that they were checking the CCTV footage of local shops to get details about the two youths, who managed to escape around 4.50pm. Soon, a police picket was posted in the area as a confidence-building measure. Police suspect that they had come to take revenge.
