Water scarcity on Holi day leads to scuffle

KOLKATA: Around 200 residents of a slum at the Hazra Road and Deodhar Street crossing clashed with each other around 5.20pm on Thursday, allegedly over the scarcity of water. After the Holi revelry was over, the dearth of water stopped many from bathing and washing off the colours, which led to the residents fighting among themselves.Cops said that though there were some skirmishes, no one was injured in the incident. The Ballygunge police, along with reinforcement from Lalbazar, forced the two groups to disperse. No complaint has been lodged in this regard so far.
