Revamped New Town golf course to open doors

KOLKATA: The revamped golf course located at Eco Park’s gate number 6 in New Town is likely to be re-opened by the middle of April.The nine-hole golf course will be renamed as Golf Arena. The range timings will be from 6am to 8.30pm and the last teeoff timing will be 4.30pm.There will also be a training facility for aspiring golfers at the golf course. For training purpose, the fee will be Rs 1,000 and it will be charged for eight one-hour sessions.The driving range at the golf course has been functioning since 2017 and is popular among both adults and children. The fee for having a golf tournament will be Rs1 lakh. If a parent is a member, then the membership fee for children will be Rs 8,000 per head per year.For practising in the golf range, the fee will be Rs 200 per person and s/he will be provided with 100 balls.

The golf course, which was opened in 2017, only had a driving range with twelve stands for golf lovers.The Housing Infrastructure Development Corporation (Hidco) that had set up the golf course over 50 acres adjacent Eco Park have come up with a fee structure also.The per person fee for playing on weekdays will be Rs 300 and on Saturdays, Sundays and on holidays, the amount would be Rs 500 per head.The membership fee for adults and children below 18 years will be Rs 15,000 per head per year plus GST. If a parent is a member, then the membership fee for children will be Rs 8,000 per head per year.For practising in the golf range, the fee will be Rs 200 per person and s/he will be provided with 100 balls. The fee for having a golf tournament will be Rs1 lakh.
