Painter Shuvaprasanna summoned by CBI in Saradha scam

The agency has also asked businessman Shibaji Panja to submit some documents in connection to the Rose Valley probe.

KOLKATA: The investigation into the Saradha muddle sped up on Tuesday with the CBI sending a summon to painter Shuvaprasanna asking him to appear for questioning.

Shuvaprasanna, who had sold his shares in Devkripa Vyapar to Saradha boss Sudipta Sen, is likely to appear before the central investigating agency on Friday.The painter, who was on the board of directors of the company, had resigned from it after the selloff.

“They have asked me to appear as a witness in connection to the Saradha probe . I will cooperate with the agency,” Shuvaprasanna said.The agency has also asked businessman Shibaji Panja to submit some documents in connection to the Rose Valley probe.

Earlier last month, Panja had appeared before the agency in connection with the CBI’s ongoing probe in ponzi firms.He was then asked to submit some documents related to the sale of paintings with the central agency. Panja is likely to appear before the agency on July 9.“I have cooperated with the agency throughout the probe and will continue to do so,” Panja said.
