Clinical regulatory panel imposes Rs 2 lakh fine on hospital for negligence

Kolkata: The West Bengal Clinical Establishment Regulatory Commission (WBCERC) has imposed a fine of Rs 2 lakh on a medical super-speciality hospital after it found some negligence on the part of the hospital authorities.
The West Bengal Clinical Establishment Regulatory Commission has asked the hospital authorities to transfer the compensation amount to the account of the deceased's son.
They later lodged a complaint with the West Bengal Clinical Establishment Regulatory Commission alleging the medical negligence led to her death.
The West Bengal Clinical Establishment Regulatory Commission carried out a detailed probe into the death of the victim.
In its observation the West Bengal Clinical Establishment Regulatory Commission said that the doctor mistakenly punctured the right carotid artery with needle.
