HC quashes no confidence notice against Sabyasachi

Kolkata: The no-confidence motion against Sabyasachi Dutta, Mayor, Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation (BMC) will not be held on July 18, following an order of the High Court. Thirty five councillors of BMC had moved a no-confidence motion against Dutta and gave a letter in that regard to municipality chairperson Krishna Chakraborty. Chakraborty in turn had sent the letter to the joint municipal commissioner. The notice for the no-confidence motion was issued by the commissioner of BMC. In the notice issued to Dutta on July 9, the BMC commissioner had convened a meeting of the board of councillors on Thursday on the direction of the chairperson, for removing him as Mayor.

In the notice issued to Dutta on July 9, the BMC commissioner had convened a meeting of the board of councillors on Thursday on the direction of the chairperson, for removing him as Mayor.
