Kolkata: Didi Ke Bolo has successfully solved the problems of many people who got in touch with Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee, said Partha Chatterjee, secretary general of the party, on Thursday. Chatterjee, along with party MP from South Kolkata Mala Roy, distributed cards among the residents of Behala West Assembly constituency as a part of the mass contact programme. Chatterjee himself is an MLA from Behala West. Under the Didi Ke Bolo programme, people can get in touch with Mamata Banerjee by calling on the toll-free number 9137091370. Chatterjee said the complaints lodged by the people have been addressed. "Not only now but since the inception of Trinamool Congress, Banerjee has been talking to people who have always felt free to talk to Banerjee. Even during her visit to the districts, on countless occasions she has got down from her vehicle and talked to the local people," he said, adding "everybody wants to talk to Mamata Banerjee, which may not be possible. But the problems faced by them have been addressed." Chatterjee said Banerjee is the only Chief Minister in the country, who can be contacted over phone to lodge complaints. Mala Roy said "Talk to Mayor" has also become a very popular people-friendly initiative, where the problems of the residents have been resolved fast. "This is for the first time in the history of KMC that the Mayor can be approached directly over the phone and the people can lodge their complaints which are addressed immediately," she added. Both Chatterjee and Roy said that as in the past, Trinamool will continue to work for the masses and will uphold the demands of common people.
