Multiple health emergency cases see rapid resolution thanks to Didi Ke Bolo

The first case refers to a critically-ill patient suffering from liver cancer, whose family members had requested the state government's assistance for a hospital bed. Another case from South 24-Parganas refers to a pregnant woman who was admitted in Baruipur Hospital and needed immediate attention. The patient party called up the helpline number and the government officials soon alerted the medical superintendent of the hospital. The third case refers to the misbehaviour of hospital staff with a man at Polba in Hooghly. The concerned hospital superintendent was alerted soon after the call was made and then things changed for the better.

Kolkata: A number of cases related to health emergencies were addressed with top priority after calls were made to the Didi Ke Bolo helpline that was launched on July 29 by Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee. The first case refers to a critically-ill patient suffering from liver cancer, whose family members had requested the state governments assistance for a hospital bed. The patient, hailing from North 24-Parganas, had failed to secure a bed at SSKM, the only place with the facilities needed to treat her. A call was made to the deputy superintendent of SSKM from the Didi Ke Bolo helpline number, following which the assistant super met the patients family and after checking her medical history, arranged for a bed at the female ward, where she is undergoing treatment. Another case from South 24-Parganas refers to a pregnant woman who was admitted in Baruipur Hospital and needed immediate attention. But there were no doctors at the time in the hospital. The patient party called up the helpline number and the government officials soon alerted the medical superintendent of the hospital. Arrangements were made fast and a doctor soon reached the spot and attended the patient. The patient is in good health at present. The third case refers to the misbehaviour of hospital staff with a man at Polba in Hooghly. The complainants father in-law was suffering from a major leg and back injury and had to be admitted to the Chinsurah Imambara Sadar Hospital. He complained that the patient was not getting any treatment and on top of that, hospital staff misbehaved with him. The concerned hospital superintendent was alerted soon after the call was made and then things changed for the better. The patient is now being treated with utmost care as informed by his family members.
