BIPAP was conducted on the patient on Tuesday so that the oxygen level in his body gets increased.
He had low oxygen saturation and high carbon-dioxide level in his blood initially when taken to the hospital, but the situation has improved gradually.
He also had an acute respiratory problem and low blood pressure.
Bhattacharjee has been a patient of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and often complained of multiple cardiac ailments.
